The park construction began in 2012 and will continue into 2013. In 2012 the underground servicing was installed and basic park grading was undertaken, some granular bases were installed for hard court and parking area . In 2013 the landscape contractor will continue with installation of the various features of the park ( water play, play structures, pathways, site furniture, shade structure, soccer field).
The last item to be installed will be the play structures as we cannot invite children into a site where there is construction activity in progress. It is anticipated that the park will be substantially complete by the fall of 2013 however the work is very weather dependant. Also the soccer field requires two growing season to establish the turf before it can be used for field play.

The final paving of both Phase 1 & 2 are scheduled to be started in the Spring of 2013. The developer, Cavanaugh has been requested to fill all potholes and level the dips in the roads especially around the sewers) before the end of this year.
Due to the dry weather this summer, we will not be planting any trees on any lots until the fall.
Our landscaper has begun laying sod on all homes that are occupied as well as at unoccupied homes where the exterior is more or less complete.
Because of the hot and dry weather, it is important for homeowners to keep an eye on their new lawns and water them accordingly.
The landscaper will come by and do an initial watering after installation. Afterwards, is up to homeowners to maintain their own lawns.
If your lawn appears to be drying out, we recommend that you use a sprinkler to water the whole lawn for a minimum of 45 minutes per area in the early morning. If you can't water in the early morning, then wait until dusk. It is not a good idea to water the lawn in the middle of the day when it is hot and sunny.
For the trees, if the really hot weather persists, we may wait until the fall for planting. But if we do plant the trees in the next couple of weeks, please use the same vigilance, and give your tree a good drink every other day or so during the hot and dry weather.
